Day 1: Board the Train to Lhasa from Beijing
Today, after your Beijing tour, you will take the train Z21 to Tibet by yourself. We can help you apply for Tibet Travel Permit and book Beijing train ticket to Lhasa.

The Z21 train to Lhasa from Beijing West Railway Station at 20:10. Please be sure to arrive in train station at least 1 hour before the train departure.

Day 2: On the Train To Lhasa
Today is the first day on the Tibet train. You will pass through two important cities in northwest China, which is Lanzhou and Xining.

From Xining, the beginning of Qinghai-Tibet railway, you could see the scenery of countryside and cities in northwest China along the rail line.

Day 3: Scenery along the Tibet Railway, and Arrive in Lhasa in the Afternoon
Today, you are going to witness the most beautiful scenery of Qinghai-Tibet Railway. Along the way to Nagchu, you could see Tanggula Pass come and go, almost indistinguishable from the rest of the high land. You could find villagers gaze at the passing train and yaks bolted off the tracks. Up here, every few minutes another range of snow-capped peaks with glaciers streaming down their sides appeared on the horizon.

Welcome to Lhasa! Upon your arrival at Lhasa Railway Station, your professional Tibetan guide will meet you at designated location on time, with Pickup Board. Then a comfortable car or bus and experienced driver will take you to Lhasa hotel safely. It is only 30km from the railway station and takes about half an hour.

After arriving at hotel, tour guide will help you check in. You can take a rest and get acclimatized to high altitude.

Day 4: Lhasa Day Tour
After breakfast, your tour guide & driver will pick you and drive to visit the splendid Potala Palace, which is Lhasa’s cardinal landmarks. You will have a whole morning to explore this world-level architectural works: White Palace, Red Palace, corridors and stairs and countless lama’s dormitory. Others include: Buddha statues, red-robed lamas and devoted, murals, etc.

In the afternoon, you will walk to visit the age-old Jokhang Temple, as the spiritual center of Tibet, which will deeply impress you with its magnificence and sincere pilgrims. You will see pilgrims donating butter oil to keep the lights burning for the Buddha; learning Tibetan Buddhism; hearing the red-robed Lamas praying; taking photos of the gold roof and enjoying the beautiful sunshine of Lhasa.

Finally, you will have a relaxing walk around Jokhang Temple at Barkhor Street, which is the oldest street in Lhasa, and full of religious atmosphere, showcasing Tibetan culture, economy, religion and arts assemble. Then transfer back to the hotel.

Day 5: Lhasa Day Tour
After breakfast, you are going to visit the Drepung Monastery, located in the west suburb of Lhasa City. It is one of the “Three Great Monasteries and the largest one in Tibetan Buddhism.” Looking at a distance, the monastery is like a heap of rice, consisting of a group of white buildings layer upon layer. Proceeding to Lhasa Carpet Factory, you could see how an elegant, soft and colorful Tibetan carpet is weaved by locals.

Afternoon going to visit the famous Sera Monastery, you will get an insight into the important aspects of Tibetan Buddhism. In the monastery in Tibet which is well-known for the excellent debating of Buddhist doctrines among lamas from 3pm to 5 pm. Inside the monastery, you can see three sand Mandalas and colorful Rock Painting of Buddha. Then transfer back to the hotel.

Day 6: Lhasa – Yamdrok Lake – Gyantse – Shigatse
After fully explore Lhasa, you’ll have a chance to get lost in the endless Tibetan landscape while you take a short hike along the turquoise waters of Lake Yamdrok, one of the four holy lakes in Tibet. This dazzling lake is normally first seen from the summit of the Kamba-la (4700m). The lake lies several hundred metres below the road, and it is shaped like a coiling scorpion. Far in the distance is the huge massif of Mt. Nojin Kangstsang (7191m).

Afterwards pass by the 5,010 m high Karo-la and the Simi La forward to Gyantse (3,950m). Visit Pelkor Monastery and Kumbum Stupa (100-Thousand-Buddha Pagoda) nearby, which both were built in the15th century and situated in the northwestern edge of Gyantse.

In the afternoon drive about 90 kilometers to Shigatse (3880m), the second largest city with 40,000 inhabitants in Tibet and the traditional capital of the Tsang.

Day 7: Shigatse – Lhatse – Tingri – Rongphu Monastery
In the morning, we will visit the home of Panchan Lama – Tashilunpo Monastery. Then, we’ll leave Shigatse after getting your Alien’s travel permit, and then drive direct to the base Camp of Mount Everest near the Rongbuk Monastery. The route takes us over several high passes and the first outstanding view you will see is from the Gyatso La pass at 5400 meters. From the viewpoint at the crest of the pass you can see Mount Everest standing tall in the distance.

At Old Tingri we will turn off the Friendship Highway and take the Zhufeng Road over the Gawu La Pass (5250m) from which you get an amazing view of the Himalayan panorama. The view of the peaks includes several mountains above 8000 meters including Mount Everest (8848m) Mt. Lhotse (8516m) Mt. Makalu (8463m) Mt. Shishapangma (8020m) and Mt. Cho Oyu (8201m).

On our arrival at the Rongbuk Monastery we will first check into the tent guesthouse or Rongbuk Monastery Guesthouse depending on the time of year. The tent guesthouses are not available in the winter months from November to March and are sometimes full in the peak months of summer. After a light lunch we will get time to explore the famous Rongbuk Monastery the official highest Buddhist monastery in the world. Housing both monks and nuns the monastery was a regular stopping point for explorers heading for Mount Everest in the early days after it was first discovered.

Day 8: EBC – Shigatse (350km, 7-8hrs)
After a pleasant night at the base camp or monastery guesthouse, we can rise early to get the best view of the sunrise on the eastern sloped of Mount Everest. The hill behind the monastery is the best spot for good early-morning photos of the mountain. Then it is time to say goodbye to the world’s highest mountain as we pack up and prepare to drive back to Shigatse.

Day 9: Shigatse to Lhasa (280km, 6-7hrs)
After breakfast we will spend the first part of the morning touring around the famous Tashilhunpo Monastery the seat of the Panchen Lama before heading off along the Friendship Highway towards Lhasa. Built in 1447 by the first Dalai Lama, the monastery is now the traditional seat of the Panchen Lama Tibet’s second highest religious incarnation. There you will be able to see the tombs of 7 Panchen Lamas explore the twisting cobbled streets and get a peek into monastic life.

On the rout drive back to Lhasa by following Yalong Valley, you can stand on the viewing platform and view the vast Yalong River bed. Finally the guide will transfer you back to your hotels in Lhasa.

Day 10: Departure From Lhasa
