    1. Foreign tourists: Passport, Chinese Visa, Tibet Travel Permit.
    2. Tourists from Hong Kong and Macau: Home Return Permit and Border Permit.
    3. Tourists from Taiwan: Taiwan Compatriot Permit, Tibet Travel Permit, and Border Permit.

    2. How to apply for Tibet Travel Permit? How long does it take?

Foreign tourists applying for a Tibet Travel Permit must provide a photo or photocopy of a valid passport and Chinese Visa. Holders of a work visa must also provide a work certificate, while holders of a student visa must provide a student certificate.

For Taiwanese tourists, only a photo or photocopy of Taiwan Compatriot Permit is required. Processing the Tibet Travel Permit usually takes 7-14 working days. Once it is successfully issued, we will mail it to your address in Chinese Mainland 3-5 days before your departure, ensuring you receive it before boarding your train or flight to Tibet.

    3. When is the best time to visit Everest Base Camp in Tibet?

The best seasons to visit Tibet Everest Base Camp are spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October). During these periods, the weather is usually clear and stable, offering ideal conditions to admire Mount Everest.

In addition, summer (July to August), the rainy season in Tibet, is still a good choice. Rainfall mainly occurs at night, while the daytime is generally clear, with pleasant temperatures suitable for sightseeing and trekking.

Winter (November to March) is the low travel season in Tibet, meaning you can enjoy various discounts if you visit EBC during this time.

    4. How far is it from Lhasa to Everest Base Camp?

The straight-line distance from Lhasa to Everest Base Camp is about 450 kilometers, but due to the winding mountain roads, the actual driving distance is around 700 kilometers. It usually takes approximately 14 hours by car to reach the EBC.

To ensure a comfortable and safe journey, we usually arrange the trip from Lhasa to Everest Base Camp over two days. This allows you not only to better acclimatize to the high-altitude environment but also to enjoy the magnificent scenery along the way.

    5. Where to stay in Lhasa to EBC tour?

In cities like Lhasa and Shigatse, accommodation options are available, ranging from luxurious hotels to budget-friendly guesthouses. You can choose according to your budget and preferences. In areas closer to Everest, such as Tingri, accommodation conditions are more basic.

At Everest Base Camp, the accommodation options are the tent guesthouses or Rongbuk Monastery guesthouse, both of which offer simple facilities. Typically, each tent contains multiple beds with thick quilts and a stove for heating. During winter, due to the cold weather, the tent guesthouses close, and travelers can stay at Rongbuk Monastery, Tashi Dzom Town or Basong Village. It's recommended to contact us in advance to help you secure your accommodation.

    6. What to eat in Lhasa to EBC tour?

In Lhasa and Shigatse, dining options are rich and diverse, ranging from Sichuan cuisine and Tibetan dishes to Western food. Near Everest, in Tingri, restaurants are fewer and mainly offer Sichuan and Tibetan meals. At Everest Base Camp, meals are simple, typically consisting of fried rice, instant noodles, and butter tea. We recommend preparing some high-energy snacks like chocolate and nuts in Lhasa to help replenish your energy and cope with the high-altitude environment.

    7. What are the unmissable highlights at Everest Base Camp?

There are many must-see sights and experiences on the Mount Everest journey. First and foremost is the majestic Mount Everest. At Gyawu La Pass, you can catch your first panoramic view of Mount Everest, where the wide-open scenery is truly spectacular. Upon arriving at Everest Base Camp, you can not only take in the magnificent highland landscapes but also enjoy the sunrise, sunset, and dazzling starry skies. The 5200m and 8848m monuments are important markers of the journey and popular spots for photos. Additionally, Rongbuk Monastery, situated at about 5,154m, is the highest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in the world. It houses precious relics, including statues of Guru Rinpoche and Shakyamuni Buddha, deeply reflecting the rich cultural heritage of Tibetan Buddhism.

    8. What to do if I experience altitude sickness upon arrival at Everest Base Camp?

Everest Base Camp, at approximately 5,200m, is one of the highest points on the trip. First-time visitors to high altitudes may experience mild symptoms of altitude sickness, such as dizziness and headaches. Our carefully planned 8-day itinerary from Lhasa to Everest Base Camp allows you to spend 2-3 days acclimatizing in Lhasa at an altitude of 3,650m while visiting some famous sights, before gradually ascending to the higher elevations of Shigatse and Everest Base Camp. This gradual approach minimizes the risk of severe altitude sickness.

If you experience severe symptoms, such as a severe headache or difficulty breathing, immediately use oxygen and inform your guide. If necessary, we may arrange for you to descend to a lower altitude and seek medical attention.
